COLLABORATORS Over the last 35 years, Israel has used over 10,000 Palestinians as collaborators in the Occupied Territories. They are under a constant threat of execution by Palestinians and they are rejected in disgust by Israelis who don’t want them in their neighborhoods. Musa and Majed are called “Jasus” – a disgraceful name in Arabic for a traitor. In a fragile existence full of anxieties, guilt and loneliness, they are trying to rebuild their lives. Musa, a drug dealer surrounded by hookers, is desperately seeking the taste of good life. It’s been year since last saw his 12 children in Gaza, but he keeps sending them money each month. Majed must find his Israeli security service operator, otherwise he faces deportation each time he tries to renew his temporary permit to stay in Israel. They both live a life of banishment and survival in downtown Tel Aviv. They may be greedy opportunists who deserve to be exiled, or they may have fallen into bad circumstances and manipulated by the Israeli security service, therefore deserve mercy. In either case, the tragic circle of their lives exposes the banality, the stupidity and the cruelty of all involved. A film about sin and punishment.
